My Red Planet is color blind............

So I got a red planet, which was pretty green base when in LFS. I think it's trying to turn brown, but gotta say it's a pretty color blind acro.............

As you can see, the color is pretty purplish..........

Something is looking good in a different tank, doesn't mean it will look the same in your tank. Flows, lights and water chemistry just to name a few.

Do you have full tank shot? How long has your tank been up? what's your calcium/alk?

Red Planet base colors change from tank to tank. Some will have that green color at the base, there is speculation it depends on light intensity. Sometimes the base will be the same color as the body and branches. Usually new growth will be a light pink or white. I wouldn't worry too much about it unless it really starts to brown out or receeed.

No Ideal, just did a 25% water change yesterday. Need to test them today, Only test I did was Po4 which was 0.4 first test, then 0.11 second test.

I never worry about PO4 as long as I'm doing frequent water changes, have GFO running, and have tested after a week's worth of feeding regiment.

My red planet is a deep pink with a prominent green base when place 3 ft from the light.
My other mini colony is a light pink with a light pink/white base when I place it 2 ft from the light.

You can't tell the green base from the pic, but here the one colony i have sitting at ~3' from the light:

Yep, tank is 3 month old. I had to restart tank due to Dino, and bleached everything. Now I think I'm getting a bit diatmo, hopefully dr tim eco-balance will take care of that.

Mine is insanely deep red with green base and bright red polyps, I'll get a photo soon.

Mine changed from brown to red but was brown for about the first 4 months

The polyps are out, and the color doesn't look too far off of the normal red balance; I think it'll do just fine for you.

Forget the acro, though; INCREDIBLE Leopard Harem!

My was brown for 6 months and now the green base is setting in along with the magenta color...
