I am wondering if this situation is common. I run a calcium reactor. I do supplement with some BRS magnesium too. I keep 50/50 Acros to LPS and softies.

I have found that my system consistenly needs a bit more calcium than what the calcium reactor can provide. My alk is at 8.0 but my Ca is at 390.....Mg is a perfect 1250......

Is this normal? Any pointers? I basically am adding BRS calcium chloride to keep the CA at around 440....

I should add that my 600 gallon system drops like 3-4 ppm of Ca per week when at 440......so its not too drastic but if left unaddressed it does settle into the 390 range.

I use red sea salt (not the pro stuff)
I use "reborn" Ca media
