️I have been using the Hydor Seltz D 2400 GPH three days shy of 4 months now. At first I was impressed with the flow and how quiet the pump was. My previous pump had quit after 4 years and the replacement I put in line was an unused backup that I had plumbed and ready to go for just such an emergency. After reading some reviews and honestly using cost as a factor I decide to go with the Hydor.
The good- It is quiet. Now I will say the pump did produce slightly more noise during the first two days or so but now it’s quiet. I attribute this to being new and needing a short break in. Having the same GPH output as the last two pumps I had running my system I can say the flow was definitely better.
Now the bad- in the last 8 weeks I have found the pump off with the maintenance mode led flashing twice. The first time it happened I removed the pump, disassembled and cleaned it to check for obstructions. It was cleaned and nothing was found that impeaded the rotation of the magnet or impeller. But I had just cleaned it 3 weeks prior at the two month mark to gauge how often I would be needing to do maintenance on my pump and plumbing. Now five weeks later I awoke to the sound of my Tunze ATO high level alarm and gyres sucking in air. The pump was off again with the red maintenance led flashing. This time I powered the pump down and restarted it instead of pulling it out. It fired right up and is running again. Although when I get home from work I will be installing my back up pump as I no longer trust this one anymore.
