Hey guys,

We've been noticing that our RBT has been moving all over the place in the tank. Today he's looking like this

It hasn't been doing so well for the past week, no extension. It's been hiding under shade, and started moving all over the place. It's weird because everything else in my tank is doing so well, except for a colony of zoas that have not been doing well for some time now. I've posted about it here https://www.reef2reef.com/threads/my-zoas-have-been-closing-up-the-same-time-every-day.241019/

Tryed everything with no luck.

I'm pretty consistent with water changes and keeping up with the maintenance. When I noticed the anemone was not doing well I did a water test. My last test (last week) gave these results

PH 7.9
NO2 0
NO3 0
NH 0
CA 420
Kh 6.5
PO 0
Salinity 1.026

I upped my dose of reef fusion to bring my ph,ca, and kh parameters back up and am now on regular schedule. I plan on getting another water test done today or tomorrow just to see what's going on.

The only other "bad" thing that could contribute to it is my ato overfilled my tank with rodi because my filtration got clogged. I removed the water and checked my salinity. Which remained at 1.026. Any insight on the anemone, or zoas in my other post for that matter would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

It looks really bad. I am surprised it is still hanging on the rock. Normally when you see something like that, it would have been on the sand bed/ or bottom of the tank waiting to be scooped out....Maybe just a bad picture.

The zoas right above it looks OK

Here's another. I'm not the best photographer [emoji6]

It looks to me that your water is not stable enough for anemones.....They do that when they are not happy with the water.

Well it's still hanging on! It's now moved to the back of my tank, seems to be a bit better than what the previous picture showed. I thought I was going to loose it at one point, it was hanging off the wall by a thread, now it's foot is firmly attached.

I found out that there was an electric current in the water from one of my power heads (had a frayed wire). It was actually kinda funny how I figured that one out. I was installing a refugium on the tank with no shirt on. My bare nipple was resting on the edge of the tank, and all a sudden I got a nice jolt. Glad I figured that out haha.

Everything else in the tank is doing amazing (except for those zoas mentioned).

Current params
PH 8.4
No2 0
No3 0
NH 0.75 (I'm using API, I think it's a false positive)
CA 420
Kh 8
PO 0.3
Salinity 1.026
Temp is stable between 75.5-77

Wonder why the zoas and anemone is not doing as well as I think they should [emoji24]

Lol. That is too graphical! Hope the corals thrive now that the problem is identified

Ouch!!

Sadly my anemone perished. I took it out of my tank before it started releasing toxins. [emoji20]
