You know what it is. I can't properly see my plants. Everything just seems to be one color to me.

You may have a very slight case of color blindness. It would make it harder to see fine differences now that you have moved the total light further into the blue spectrum. My father is like this. We argue over the actual color of corals all the time. Such as orange vs red. If you don't like the look you should change it. Atintic really makes corals pop but isn't that spectacular on a planted tank.

Yeah, my girlfriend says it looks great, but it actually makes my head hurt. Looking to find a T8 light thats is for saltwater use that I like better. right now.

So Thursday is going to be the day I go crab hunting. i've tried traps, but to no avail. So... Time to go in and pull out every rock I can until I can grab it.

While I do this ill be taking out some rock. I want to die down on rock filtration so that the macro algae can take over more (it seems like a good idea to me). I'll also be taking out the Zebra Barred Dartfish and looking for replacements (maybe a swales basslet, but im not sure how it would do with the royal gramma.

I'm all about taking chances... well that's a lie. Taking chances is new to me, but im learning. So the chances ive taken these last two weeks:

1) Since I'm so close to the Gulf I spend some time at the beach. Not sure if a boat had passed or something and kicked up some grasses but I found some on the shore. No idea where they were from because I couldnt even see any beds nearby. I stay prepared and had a bucket handy so I took some home. Planted it in my tank, but nothings happened so far. No growth. Anything.

2) After taking out my two Zebra Dartfish and catching that crab. I purchased a Swales Basslet. My Royal Gramma isn't to happy though.

New Pics coming soon!

Posted the above pic this morning when i woke up. As you can see after walking along the beach for a few hours i got a few pieces of seagrass sitting in the tank. Like i noted before my macro algae growth isnt really going well, even with increased feedings and no water changes in weeks. The only times i have increased growth was when something went sexual and released its nutrients in the water. I never do water changes when that happens either. I let my other macros take up the slack. Thats when i get prolifera growth. My fern caulerpa is hard to find. Only bits and pieces. It's also possible my Urchin is destroying my macros. Think its time is up in my tank. Probably going to get rid of it Friday.

One thing that I do have loads of growth of... GHA. GHA is growing very well!

Female Greenbanded Goby is carrying eggs!!! I see them when she comes close. A cluster of little dots under her scales.

Usually the reason for a type of micro algae to outcompete the more complex plants is because some essential nutrient is missing. This is why with freshwater planted tanks people dose potassium, nitrate, and phosphate in fairly equal amounts along with micro nutrients. Maybe dosing a complete fertilizer regime will help kick off the macro alga.

Is there anything you can recommend?
