My shark gimpy gills

Ya I'd really watch the puffer and trigger, lion fish bad idea as well. How big is the larger shark? Hope you're getting them a bigger tank for themselves soon. Yikes the things that could happen in that tank. Good luck, hope all goes well.

(I just had to get rid of a yellow tang that decided to start grazing on my bat rays back, and those don't have the chompers that a trigger and puffer have. Watch careful, only takes 1 wound to get infected and kill that shark, and copper treatment is out of the question.)

Yeah we're getting a bigger tank for the sharks. The big one is about 8 inches. Everyone is doing fine. My lionfish died though. All my fish are very nice except the domino haha.

Domino's are the meanest fish alive. They are hell. I had a very large niger trigger 10"+ and a 12" stars and stripes puffer for a very long time with my sharks, but eventually got rid of them simply because the damage they CAN cause is not worth waiting for it to happen. It's like when a fish suddenly gets a taste for coral, there's no going back after it's already happened. So an ounce of prevention you know. Atleast the larger shark is still pretty small so the tank isn't too terribly small for it now, but those can easily get to 3', so I'd be looking for something at least that wide and double the length, but really that would still be a little too tight.

You keep batrays in aquariums? Iv never heard of that and honestly don't think they should be in aquariums(even babys) they get HUGE, much bigger then these sharks lol, Iv caught 200lb batrays and know they love to swim! Lol

Thanks for the advice. This isn't my first time working with sharks. They're sensitive to all metals. I've had it going for a while now. Yes I'm young but I've been learning about this stuff since I was 2. My dad has had aquariums since he was a kid too

Your doing a good job all the fish look healthy keep it up! I'm sure you already new they would need a bigger tank one day lol.

Thanks! Everyone is perfectly healthy! Yes they need a bigger tank and I have said that I'm in the process of getting a bigger one.

Ya I know your planning on a new tank already, that part of my comment was intended for the other people that keep telling you that you need a bigger tank without realizing that you already said you plan on upgrading lol, I know they mean well though.

I know haha thank you. I'm just new to this forum thing! I'm not new at all to caring for fish. I'm going to school for marine biology for goodness sake haha

Yeah I just really love sharks and my friends think I'm a genius when I talk about fish haha and I always find myself boring people with fish knowledge so I thought that would be a perfect profession

Beautiful sharks, keep up the good work! I too am a biology student (though I'm in organismal biology - Pre Med) Everyone looks happy and healthy!
