Hello all...
When I moved out to Atascadero, I lost all my systems in one fell stroke. Slowly, I have been biding my time before I could set up my new system; a 60 gallon cube. Moving, a new baby, and getting two new jobs takes a lot of time and work, so I had to pinch pennies and slowly amass the supplies I needed to get this aquarium going. I'm glad to say now it is ready (mostly). Just have to let it cycle--although the rock has well over 6 years in aquariums--it probably had some die off when I built the rock structures. I utilized carbon fiber rods and epoxy to stack my rockwork. Drilled each piece with a masonry bit to make large pillars and arches. This is the only way to get height in a cube tank, since the footprint is so small. I wanted to go for a more open, minimalist look. I also enjoy tanks that have pillars that reach the very top of the tank--my largest pillar is less than 1" from the surface.
System Specs:
So here's a few pictures, tank has been running for less than 20 hours. Still a little cloudy:
I can't wait to get the EcoRay on this, it will be much brighter!
An idea of my aquascape.
Ghetto sump that needs a sock.
My new lights. These should blast this tank with plenty of PAR.
