My skimmer smell good ?

my skimmer does not smell bad at all (~smell like clay), even when it is dirty. It's been like this for 10 years.
is this bad doctor?

I have often read comments "if the skimmer doesn't smell bad" it is poorly adjusted or etc...
I have a "standard" fish population and feed "medium/low" pellets/freeze.

I noticed that in the open air the sps smell really strong.
But, I don't have many...
maybe that's where "my lack of smell" comes from...

I must not be alone !?

My skim mate smells horrible.
Like some fermented asian anchovey sauce.

Maybe that might smell good to some people?
But its something i could never aquire a liking to, even tho i am asian myself.

Mine absolutely stinks tbh . If you ain't got no problems I wouldn't worry.
Maybe you don't have much dissolved organics in the water for it to pull out so it's not as stinky.

I have a very sensitive sense of smell... and a woman who comments on everything I do...

Your skim mate is also a strange color mine is always dark green/ brown and smells awful. Multiple tanks over the years always the same smell and color.

Skim dry and dose some vodka to your tank, it will smell like Taco Bell bathroom in no time..

Mine smells like butt every time! Smells like someone opened a sewer line right into my home.

Skim dry and dose some vodka to your tank, it will smell like Taco Bell bathroom in no time..

I dose VSV in the past and now BB and MB7...
ain't smell a real difference. (Barely)

It's not like it not skim at all.

May be its the camera/light settings.
I see, forest green brownish.

I was just curious because I had to cut up some colonies in tank last week and ran some. To my surprise my hot mud didn't smell that bad at all. I figured it was the carbon?

about 1 cup in a reactor before the 18w uv.
Change rarely... could be 4 months old now easy.
