I need help guys my snails keep dying they go alright for about 2 to 3 weeks then die my water prem
Ammonia 0
Nitrite 0
Nitrate 5ppm
Phosphate 0.25 bit high I know
Carbon hardness 9dkh
Salinity 1.023
Would it be that my salinity is to low,I must admit I just threw the snail in my tank I know bad thing to do but it was fine for 3 weeks any idea where I'm going wrong??????

Inverts are sensitive to changes in water. They need to be properly acclimated. They also like to die slow deaths.

I had similar problems. I now acclimate my snails ridiculously slowly, sometimes taking 6 hrs. Survival has improved a lot.

Also some snails sold (seems like the red footed ones have been mentioned) are not from tropical waters and cook to death in our tanks, and it takes a bit of time to die.

Did you buy a used system? Do you have corals? If you bought a used system with no coral, check for copper?

+1....this was my first thought. They need to be acclimated slowly...and you might be too late if the LFS didn't do a good job acclimating.

My second thought, do you have dinoflagellates? They produce a toxin that will kill snails.
