Is the goal to strictly grow corals for sale? Pardon my ignorance but what is the fad with all the corals on tiles? That’s not a reef, that’s marketing.

I did not think it a fad, just pure convenience.
I do not sell frags or colonies at all. I realized that I don't care about recreating a reef look and after many years of reef keeping I have learned how to make the work in the tank as simple as possible. I run bare bottom for the same reason. The tiles are the most functional part of being able to move corals, trim touching branches, and clean the tank.
The tank is set up purely for me to enjoy looking at my corals and to observe their well being. Even the fish are only there to poop nutrients for the coral. lol.

Fair enough. They do look great, just that I have been seeing that kind of thing a lot lately. Absolutely no denying it make a much much simpler task of keeping amazing looking corals. If those tiles ever get top heavy and you want to trade some stuff holla btw, I’m just up the road from you. I’ll even glue it to a tile, I think I have some left from my kitchen remodel...totally kidding btw!

I enjoy sharing and trading pieces. I see you are local. I cut up and give away some pieces every once in a while. Some folks have traded with me so they have a back up in case of loss.
Thank you for the kind words and I appreciate your taking the time to view my thread.

I bought this a while back as a frag called Frogskin, green skin with purple tips. Under high light, the skin turns white and the coralites are purple. The tips are reddish. I see pics in forums that I believe is this coral but with different names and sold at higher prices. Does anyone else have this coral?? Does anyone know different names that this is sold as?

This came to me less then 1/2". It was a broken tip in the bottom of the importers box. It was pastel blue. It has turned torquoise with lavender tips . Loves high light, 650-700 par.

I wish my Strawberry shortcake would get the bright red tips. It is trying but just not there.

Miami Orchid looking solid and growing fast.

I cannot get the camera to show how yellow this milli is. I have high hopes to one day have a yellow milli colony moved into the display tank.

This is the darkest blue piece in my tank. I have no idea how the camera is seeing a little rose color on top of these branches. This has no name. Maybe I will call it "Oregon Tenuis". lol

My wife made a cell phone video. Gives a good sense of growth and color development. The phone is not good enough for any close up shots to show detail, but you can see the health and type of each coral.
A few named pieces but mostly unnamed wild and mariculture.

Also to note. This camera sees almost no red. Everything in the video that is red or pink is dull and nearly a salmon color. Need a better video recorder. lol

everything looks great and really happy!

What are you keeping your alk at and are you dosing anything?

Thank you for the good words.
I keep alk low in the 7.3 range. That is my center point I strive for.
I use both Coral Essentials and Aqua Forest products in dosing.
CE: Black Label Chroma, and Vibrance; Trace A, B, C; Potassium, Boron.
AF : Pro Bio S, NP Pro, Build, Fish V, Aminos
ESV 3 part
I have hit a sweet spot for my system running high par; 500 bottom, 800 top. This requires running higher nutrients to not burn up the acros. The corals look best around .05 PO4 and 15-20 NO3.

Thank you! How long do you run your lights for?

Glad you bumped this thread, I had missed it. Acros looking good!

Thank you Sir.
I have long followed your threads on here and RC. I just get busy with life and drop off the forums for a while.
But, acros seem to be an addiction and a pleasure so the reef continues on. lol.
Thank you for all that you post and the knowledge you share.
