Popped a seam at the bottom or it gave out because it was old, IDK. Came home to a slow leak and a nearly empty sump. The upside I get a new tank, the down side, I don't get my dream tank cause I gotta buy one NOW. But I wasn't really sure I wanted a bigger one just because of the work and how much I love the size of this one. I go back and forth with that in my head.
My credit card isn't happy with me right now, but I will have a nice new custom acrylic. Got ahold of the tank building guy and told him what happened he is making the tank now. I was very grateful for that. After I get it dried I am going to try and see why it leaked, how it leaked, or what. It was a used tank and I wonder if someone patched the back.

That's a tough way to get a new tank! I appreciate your desire to stick with it!

Sorry you are dealing with this! What are you doing for the time being for your livestock? Geeze this has got to be such a hassle and so much work!

Ive got everything divided up into two different 40 gallon tanks. Rocks and fish in one, delicate corals in the frag tank.

Sorry for the issues? What kind of tank was it?

I think it was one of the very first deep blues when they were still rimmed. When I looked it over I think someone resealed the bottom of it. The back brace running around the bottom appears to have detached, probably because of water pushing through there. The silicone on the bottom doesn't look as well done as it does on the inside corners. So pretty sure its a refurb.
Was my first tank serious reef tank.
I've had others, but this was the only one I was ever happy with dimensions wise so I got rid of the rest and kept this one. Had it almost five years.

Hurts, been there. Bought an Aqueon 75g megaflow brand new and a seam let go right at the bottom 1/8" above the trim. I put everything into tubs and buckets with powerheads and heaters. Lost 1/2 my 4 years of coral growth overnight due to coral warfare.
Hope your corals fare better.

Did you have a question, or just sharing your bad luck ...

Good luck! Mine tank crashed-the glass cracked down one of the side glass panels. 25 gallons of water rushing out. Lost all my fish- no coral at the time.

Just sharing my bad luck. That and I'll finally get to do a build thread. Suppose I'll have to do that on the build forum. :)

What a great bloke, nice turn around. :)

Yes. He really did this quick because I couldn't find a tank ANYWHERE these dimensions unless I was going to order it online. The prices were (holy moly) and (I don't think I trust you to use glue)....
This guy has pretty much turned his tank building hobby into a business and has built several, so hopefully he will do a bang up job. :). I've seen some really nice tanks from him. All the way up to like 600 gallon monsters.

Just saw your thread, bummer

Has the livestock been doing ok so far? Hopefully you get the new tank tomorrow, the sooner the better. That’s pretty awesome that he’s getting it to you so quickly!
