Marineland 265 Gallons + 125 gallons sump total of 1,7 tons.
 
look like you built it out of fiber Bord? the water gonna swell it up and turn it into soft mush over time I wouldn't of used anything less than pine 2x4 for all the main braceing, if that's just plywood and fiber Bord I would in no way fill that up with water in my house

Some of that looks like particle board. When it gets wet, it will crumble. My mobile home sub floor is made of particle board. One day the washer leaked. Floor collapsed, and washer fell through to the floor joists. Also, I don't really like those skinny legs in front, and back of the sump.

the diagram was a draft, the picture that illustrate the most the skeleton is the second, we removed 3 panels and doubled both extremity, All the frame is Plywood and sprayed up with urethane to prevent from humidity to attack the frame. Yes Full plywood panel at the back and doors front and side, but all the doors will open the only part that add strength is the back plywood panel, All the skeleton is plywood (kind of high density plywood) the fiberwood you saw was just a test everything is replace by solid walnut trim and doors. Every part of plywood skeleton are glued together and we used stainless screws.

All the frame is made of cherrywood plywood, (actually one of the the strongest plywood) - No particle board, no mdf, no fiber board.

When in doubt, reinforce!
 
I have built a number of stands very similar to yours. Look at a factory stands, they are not made with 2x4. They are very minimal.

Your stand looks good, if you are concerned, you could stiffen the legs by adding another piece of ply or sandwiching them. Fill it slowly and give the supports a little Wiggle. If they become soft, you need to support it.

The force is down so you don't need to build a fort.

I enjoy seeing an engineered stand instead of something made out of timbers and concrete block because its easy.

Well, I worked on aircraft in the Air Force. I am also a mechanical engineer. I always admired the structure of frames, bulkheads and ribs made out of reletively weak aluminum that could support a B52 fully loaded and still be in use 60+ years later. Your stand is similarly designed, and it reminds me of the frame of an airplane.
 
That looks great! My 220 sits on something like that. I think with those stiffeners you are good.
 
I think that you did well to add the bracing! I am a handyman/southern engineer.:wink: Windy, do you also think that he did well to add the bracing?
 
I don't know if it was necessary or not. I am assuming both front and back are removable and therefore give no lateral bracing. Next you would need to load those plywood braces with enough weight to create bowing. I would have to see the specks on the ply and the weight of the tank full. If additional lateral bracing for those supports was required what was done will be more than enough. Also a simple strap or inlayed horizontal brace would do the same thing.

Finally after looking closely at the stand, and if the back is not attached permanently then the whole stand could rack sideways without cross bracing. Is the back attached?
 
Or, if the stand is attached to the wall on one end, there will be no racking issue, with or without the back.
 
Hello Windy, so If you look closely the front plywood piece is made of a single sheet been emptied same process front and back, the back panel is also screw in the frame and finally the hole setup is screw to walls as the hole furniture is built in with the house ;) for specs here is some :
265 Gallons Marineland 2 Corner flow / 84"X24"X30" / 2 520 Lbs. Filled weight
125 Gallons Marineland Regular Tanl / 72"X18"X22" / 1 160 Lbs. Filled weight

total of 1,7 tons. + furniture rocks everything should be around 2 tons.
