Just curious have you ever swapped tanks? Or is it the same tank for 46 years? Silicone doesnt generally last longer than 25

The tank started in here in 1971. In about 1979 or 80 I moved 9 miles and took the tank with me. In my new house I transferred everything to it's present 100 gallon tank which it has been in since 1980.
So for 37 years it has been in the 100 gallon tank.

Cool pic. Id be worried about that silicone! Not trying to scare you but thats a reality.

At my age I don't worry about much. If the silicone goes, it has had one heck of a run. I doubt I would get a new tank if it leaked as I soon may take it down because we may downsize and move to a smaller place where I will have plastic fish.

Last year I did find three Leeks on the front glass.

Do you know what brand the tank is? That's a real testament to how well it was built. Of course everything was made 100x's better back then haha.

I don't remember but I think it was Perfecto or something like that. My glass is 1/2" thick and the tank is only about 14" high so not a lot of pressure there.
