my tank tried to kill me!

So I setup this evo13.5 gallon tank pretty quickly without giving much thought to safety... small tank, whats the worse that can happen... right?

Well, i stuck my hand in yesterday to adjust the temp on the heater and i got a nasty shock. Turned out that the return pump that came with the tank was leaking stray voltage. I forgot to install a GFCI outlet and a ground probe in my haste to setup the tank. So please learn from my mistakes and protect your tank and family; GFCI + Ground probe is a must

At least you didn't make yourself sick for a week with mild palytoxin poisoning like I did 6 weeks ago.

Glad everything turned out ok! I had one of my 250watt metal halide pendants fall into my 125 gallon aquarium! No harm, no foul except for the light...
