My Tank Updates and Progress

July 21st, 2022: I just bought a Reef2Reef supporting membership just so I could put “An afishionado!” as my header lol!! And other reasons like the unlimited editing but mainly that. I just started an Instagram @an_afishionado too! :rolling-on-the-floor-laughing: If anyone else has an Instagram page dedicated to your tank let’s follow and support each other. And my shrimp tripled in size the last few months I got him when he was a teeny tiny baby. This photo doesn’t show his true size.

July 26th, 2022: Happy 1 month Cookie! I’m very happy to report it’s officially been a month since I got my starfish. I’ve been doing my very best with him and while I know he’s sometimes unhappy with me when he curls after a water change despite matching the water temp and salinity perfectly he’s been eating very well, loves to climb all over the tank, and reacts to stimuli. I was so scared he was going to melt away on me within days and I’m still hoping/praying he doesn’t. I do notice his little spikes have changed since I got him but I took a trip to the fish store and noticed a little bit of the same thing leading me to believe he’s fine. It’s almost looks like if you took a file and made them less round/filed them down none of them have fallen off though or are missing it’s just some are more uneven now as compared to when I got him. I do wonder if they can grow arms back can they grow their spikes back?

I did. An rose bubble tip anemone that sadly got stuck to my powerhead and died lesson learned, a GSP, alveropora, and some green cloves! I’ll get some good photos when they open.
Keep in mind that anemones need a more mature tank. The tank was m ost likely too new for it. Also, I haven't seen any numbers/parameters posted. Would be helpful to viewers to know how your tank is doing in that regard.

Now if would be okay! I think I’ll get one soon. I posted them.

I'd wait several more months at least with all your tank issues. And be sure you have guards for your powerhead. I think you could use another powerhead--one each side and more surface agitation.

where did you post them.

It's not better if no3 is 30 and po4 is .8 Do not try a nem until your tank has been stable for at least 3-4 months with nothing going wrong. Also, for a nem and your corals, what is your alk/mg/ca
I said better from the bloom and low oxygen levels. My nutrients bottomed out but are in check now as the bacterial bloom is gone.

January 16th, 2023: I haven’t really been posting in this thread as I’m more focused on my current lobster tank. But here is the first full tank shot of 2023!:) Nothing major to report but I did get some new corals and a fleece roller for Christmas…which I’m loving!
