So i'm 15 and love love love aquariums. I have three actual tanks and only 1 up and running, the one that's up is unfortunately a 55 gallon freshwater planted. As a teenager I don't want to sink myself to far into the reef of debt so i'm starting up a 10 gallon frag/mother colony tank to help pay for my monstrous 180 gallon reef (72l by 24w and h). I love the outdoors and (ironically) fishing. Please share all the tips you have for a lowly beginner like me.

Welcome to r2r!Kayden,it's awesome to see a young guy getting into this hobby.Yea it's expensive most of the time but you have a plan and that helps a lot.A 180 is a big undertaking and the rock alone is well you know i'm sure.Be carefull buying used live rock if you choose that rout.It can be full of unwanted po4 and such.If ya do,lots of threads on curing it and making it useable.Stay away from things like used heaters.you just might end up with one that boils your Tank.pumps are great used sense your a diy guy and you can find them cheap and fix them your self.Lights are hit or mis. but you can find great deals if you look.
I wish you luck in your adventure and I know members will respond with help.
