Hahaha, don't pee in your tank...

A dead uncooked shrimp would work, I'd throw the whole thing in. When I cycle rocks I throw shrimp in and pull it out when the ammonia starts to go up, usually within 24 hours. So yeah, drop in a shrimp before you go to bed and test first thing in the morning. Your tank is smallish, so that should probably be good enough, if not, test again four or eight hours later...

Now, keep in mine the shrimp goes wrank pretty quickly, so you might need to net it and throw it straight outside when you fish it out, lol

Ok I will do that but for how long should I do the shrimp thing?? And I have a 36 gallon tank.... after I do that what should I do next??
