Does anyone have experience with their starfish being injured? How well do they heal? What should I watch for? This one is my wife's favorite. I can only assume an emerald crab is the villain. There are several.

I love stars and have had many over the years. I would double check parameters- esp nitrate. IME When starfish get sick, that is usually what it looks like; they start to disintegrate. I would go over all parameters carefully to be sure nothing is amiss. If by chance it is some type of injury, or if you correct water quality (if something was off) I've found that they can recover.

My nitrates are 5, Alk is 9.1, Ca 420, Po4 is almost 0, Mg 1400. Just reduced my DOS a bit on the Alk and increased the time my fuge light stays on to lower my No3 a bit. My parameters don't change much.
