If your concerned of it not opening, it could be shedding. Mine just did it and it took a good week before it opened again.
See if it looks shiny on top, later on it looks like a skin of algae.

Mine didn’t open up for a couple of months. Don’t know the reason why. Everything else was doing fine like my sps and zoas. My wife would tell me to throw it out. Not it looks beautiful swaying in the water.

2 days ago I noticed that the skin is shedding between the polyps. the flow is moderate.

Leathers can close for a long time, they are very temperamental. When I first got mine they took weeks to months before they really opened. Based on the plug it looks like a petco leather? If so, it’s been through a lot and it looks pretty healthy all things considered. Should be fine.

yes it is a petco leather. well we will continue waiting for it to open.

Looks unhappy, but otherwise fine... Give it time. Leathers can be finicky.

Mine is not a Petco find but here is a shot of mine... I think they do best at the bottom of the tank, right on the sandbed...

Even better with 3 heads. Note the two heads in the front reopened for the first time after one week of shedding.

Leathers can take time to adjust. Not just days, but can be longer. It will shed as you saw and will be fine. It actually looks healthy. I would be careful if sand can be blown on it. It will get irritated. Moderate non direct flow.

It can take weeks. Keep it in good flow and good light, and it will open up eventually. They tend to be happiest on the rocks (though I do have one that was only ever happy in one area on the sandbed).
