....when it comes to dealing with sounds at night. After 5 ish years of no aquariums bubbling, I can’t sleep with an air pump in the room. This would be great....if studios were the same price as 1 bedroom apartments. And no, I’m not asking for commentary about housing or living prices anywhere, please keep that to yourself.

Does anybody have tips on how to make loud things less noisy? Specifically regarding air bubbles? I know about the fluffy rule (wrap anything noisy in cloth to make it less noisy), but the air bubbles from sponge filters and brine shrimp hatcheries is simply too much....

I have 2 tanks in my bedroom and over time I just blocked it out, but I would love to hear some new solutions.

They have knobs that can reduce the amount of bubbles to the minimum that you need, which can reduce the sound of the bubbles themselves.

I concur with the white noise. We run a wind tunnel fan in our bedroom at night. Me and the wife can't fall asleep without it.

is it out of the question to shut it off when you go to sleep?

My kids got used to sleeping with a fan in the summer, now they can't sleep without it.

Don’t apply air bubbles to your hatchery lol get another hatchery !

I use the dish from brs no bubbles needed and I harvest a **** Ton of brine

My tank isn't in my room, but i have my qt tanks setup near my desk, and ive found using regular spray bar type internal filters are much quieter, you could run the airpumps and another filter on timers, so the airpumps are off when you sleep, and it just uses a quiter filter while you sleep.

I think finer bubbles are quieter than larger ones, so anything to help break them up before they reach the surface should help. I'm not sure quite what exactly would achieve that, though.

I have exactly the same problem - my freshwater shrimp have two bubble filters and sometimes at 3am I feel I'm going insane listening to it ! Was so glad to find the first powerhead I got is dead silent.

I had a car, equinox, that used a subwoofer to cancel engine noise, maybe something outside of headphones exists for a room.

this is true. you can make a defuser to make more smaller bubbles. maybe try larger wood bubble blocks.
or you can always join the military, they will teach you how to sleep through anything just saying.
