Just think how wonderful someone would think that tank looks if they wanted one but never had one...that tank looks just fine..

Thanks everyone. No sump yet. Maybe later. Ill try and move the rocks from the sides. About the siphon, how exactly DO u get between the rocks? That seems like it will be a challenge no matter where I place the rocks.

You don't have to clean all the cc under your rocks. Just do the best you can when you syphon the cc. That may be why some folks don't like cc though.

When people talk about "vacuuming the sand" are they referring to the siphon or a special vacuum tool?

Its an aquarium tool that has a big end where you are 'vacuuming' and then it narrows down where the tubing attaches. They are gravity feed just like when you use a syphon tube. The big end allows the cc to swirl around while the lighter detritus and such gets sucked up with the water.

Where do you live Gemini, I have about 3 of them I am not using, (I have a deep sand bed) and I will mail one ( free) to you if you are in the country.
