I got a surprise from my GF this week! She is getting me a Calcium reactor and a regulator for my tank!! She says that it seemed like something I wanted but would never buy for myself! (Love this woman!) I constantly research them, but have never bitten the bullet to do it right because of the cost.

So, she's getting me a Geo818 reactor and an aquariumplants.com regulator!

One question before she orders this is about the regulator. Is there any reason to spend the $80 extra on the digital read out.. or is it just a waste? (she went ahead and ordered with the digital readout... did I mention I love this woman)

Note: Here is what I have on order so far.

Geo 818 Calcium Reactor - CR818
Aquariumplants.com electronic regulator w/ lcd - CarbonDoser Electronic Co2 Regulator
Cole parmer continuous duty peristalic pump - eBay - New & used electronics, cars, apparel, collectibles, sporting goods & more at low prices
Already have an apex with PH probe to control the unit.

Should I get the coarse or extra coarse ARM media?

Do I need any other fittings, etc?

When I go to hook this all up, should I just stop my dosing system all at once?

I use the coarse and like it, I personally use and like the MTC due to the dual chambers. One question what is the Cole parmer pump for?

To guarantee an exact flow through rate that never needs to be adjusted. Just makes the system that much more reliable and consistent. (These things are medical exact and can produce up to 15psi)

I was told that Geo reactors design causes them to not need a 2nd chamber. Don't know exactly why, but I was told that by enough people that I eventually came to believe it.
