So I remember like 15-20 years ago, the great frontier in marine fish, was the Moorish Idol. Everyone wanted one, but nobody could keep them alive, they wouldn't eat.

Then I remember a bunch of people saying "bananas". Someone fed one a banana, and it ate it, and it turned out a few other owners did this as well, and it became this weird lore that sometimes you could get one to eat bananas and keep them alive, or switch them to prepared foods.

Much more recently, I remember hearing about Entice or some other food supplement, and how it had a banana scent to it, and that it made reluctant eaters more likely to eat..

There might really be some oil or something in them, that causes a feeding reaction in fish.

Hi all! So I was watching the tank and eating a banana and one thing led to another so it turns out my mystery wrasse goes absolutely bonkers over banana! Any reason not to feed banana in the tank occasionally? Everything else is nipping at it except the clowns They’re not very bright.
Wow.. how did you even thought of feeding banana?

Also if your worried about feeding terestrial food to your fish, consult the ingredients of your flake food.

I feel like we need to make a fish/banana compatibility chart now.
