My Yellow Tail Damsel in the sump

A little back story before I get reamed for the title. I made the same mistake a billion rookies before me have made; I bought a damsel, I want to test my tank after cycling they're cheap and hardy. Added more livestock over the next couple months and he was great not misbehaved at all, until my Royal Gramma was introduced he hated this poor fish chasing into hiding and appeared to be attacking. I currently don't have a quarantine and don't have anyone to give him to so I put him in the sump where he's remained for the last three months. Any thoughts?

20 gal with decent size refugium thats where he's at

He should be fine in there. Damsels don't need much space, and they will get all they need.

Still, I think he is best off as back to the LFS. I don't think of sumps as anything but temporary expedients.

How is the refugium any different from a DT for the fish? Most damsels are anti-social anyway so it may even be better off where it is.

He has a giant territory that he can claim as his little kingdom. Unless there is something stressful in his environment, I don't think he would mind living there as long as he gets fed

This thread got a better response than I was expecting. (Torches and Pickforks) I respect everyone's opinions, but majority of you seen no harm with keeping him in the refugium. Besides every time I've got my cabinet open my two year old daughter loves watching him popping in and out of sight from behind my chato . Thank you all for responding.
