I accidentally forgot to put the individually sealed frozen mysis shrimp back in the freezer for a few hours (between 2.5-4 hours). A few cubes had some frozen crystals but for the most part all of them thawed.

They have soiled, right? Throw them away?

Well, I'd take the chance and re-freeze them. Now if it was overnight, then I'd toss them. But, since they had some ice crystals still present, they must have still been pretty cold.

Idk I have done that same thing and be ok. But I have been told once unthawed throw away. So guess up to u lol

Cell walls were weakened but I doubt all nutrients and edibility are gone. If they smell fine, I would use it!

Bacteria growth is the issue not the nutruens breaking down.

The brand site says "You may safely refreeze fish foods that still contain ice crystals and are cold to the touch or if they have been kept at 40° F or below for no more than 2 hours."

Raw Fish for human consumption is fine for 24 hours at 40°, 2 hours at room temperature (less if its vacuum sealer, bochilism)

The 4 or 5 cubes that had ice crystals was covered by the 2nd box of frozen shrimp.

Ill keep those 4-5 and feed it to them frozen if the don't smell (i always thaw them first).

I lost my first fish
