So my cleaner shrimp was happy and healthy last night now he’s dead with this snotty spider silk and sand stuck all over him. He was initially stuck wedged in my rock work but I freed him to get a look. My parameters were on point (according to a dip strip) and my starfish cardinal snails and anemone are all fine for now. What could have killed him?

Maybe it's just a molt? If not what are your water parameters?

How long have you had him? In my experience you are lucky if they live two years. Their average life is usually 3-5 years.

I’m hopeful it’s a molt but he did that about a week ago so I doubt that. And currently have no Phosphate nitrate or nitrites ph 8.0 and I need a new hydrometer but I had it tested a few days ago before adding my rainbow bubble tip

It doesn't really look like anything attacked the body (from what I see in the picture,) do you have any nassarius snails?

Not quite sure. There was two hitch hikers on the rock one looks like a moonsnail and the other... too dang small to tell

Moon snail? Did a quick search for them and they're considered predatory. Maybe that's your culprit, as the stringy stuff and sand on the shrimp definitely is snail slime.
