Ive had my foxface for well over a year and he eats like a pig every day. But yesterday he wouldn’t come out and eat.

I just feed again today and he did the same thing. Its very strange and unlike him. I haven’t changed anything over the last few months. Very concerning.

Anyone have any suggestions.

He could have nipped something that didn't agree with him.
No little chunks out of anything?
He looks fat, does he look bloated to you since you see him everyday?

Hi - nice tank - first of all.

So no new corals fish, etc etc over months. Any parameter abnormalities (doubt this), Did you change food? (I know you said you made no changes, but - it doesn't hurt to ask). Without a good picture or other symtpoms (heavy breathing, etc) it's hard to say. I suppose it could be eating something in the tank (and therefor not as much food) - or ate something that didn't agree with him.

Have you done any water changes, etc lately?

I do daily WCs.

All levels have been the same for months. I added QT'ed fish about a month ago. One X-mass wrasse just jumped out of the tank and died on top of the screen.

Nothing out of the normal other than hiding and i see his mouth opening and closing a lot. I notice no color change like hes scared. He looks very normal. Its just so weird.

I feed the same thing for over 6 months now. Mysis with a little mix of salmon. Every few weeks i add selcon to the food.

I feel the other fish should be acting weird to if there was an issue. But everyone acts fine.

So - let's go against the disease area - what are you attempting to feed? Could it be constipation, etc

By the way - just like people, fish also develop cancers, illness (internal), etc etc - that cause them to die before their usual lifespan. It could be something not curable.

Mysis, flakes and pellets. Ignoring everything.

Yeah my fear.
