Mystery killer in frag tank

I have had 2 fish die in my frag tank in the last couple of weeks without warning. An angelfish and a clown tang were both found dead in the morning after showing no signs of illness. Is it possible that the hermits in my frag tank are taking out fish while they sleep? When found both eyes and some flesh were missing.

Sorry to hear you lost them.

Ninja hermit crabs did not kill your fish. Check your parameters and maintain a close eye on the rest of your fish for signs of distress or illness.

They probably had a good time when they were dead but not the cause

Figured out what the mystery killer was. MiniMax Reactor cord has a 3 inch long section of SEVERELY degraded power cord coming from under the reactor. Thank goodness for grounding plugs! I could have sworn I felt a tingle as I took it out of the water.... sure enough
