Mystery Microbubbles

Morning all.
Recently upgraded to a 120 from my 90 and all was well. Recently, I have noticed microbubbles in my display. I don’t see them in the return chamber (submerged internal return pump), I don’t see physical bubbles coming from my return lines or my gyre power heads. I’ve cleaned everything and I still have them and now I’m at a loss. Any help? Thanks !

Mine come from my Foam Covers on my Danner Pump intakes. I have to really squeeze them out of the Foam when I swap them out. Also make sure the long side is horizontal, so the filter is further under water.

Thanks. I don’t have any foam covers and tried to get everything cleaned etc to rule stuff out. Is it possible for the return to generate them, but they’re so small I can’t see them? Then they combine in the DT and become bigger?

Do the lines from those pumps ever come into contact with air? Even a small gap between two fittings is enough to introduce such bubbles.

Turn all the pumps off till the bubbles go away. Then turn them back on and look for where theyre coming from. If its coming from a pump make sure no air is entering it. If not, then check for plumbing leaks. A small leak can introduce just enough air to make micro bubbles. Lastly clean the pump, and inspect impeller. A dirty or broken impeller can cause cavitation and bubbles.

Seems like it comes from a certain setting in my icecap gyres, cleaned all pumps, and can’t actually see where they are coming from. Frustrating but tank is healthy so don’t want to mess with too much.

When you say certain setting is the pump pulsing at that time? Could be a cavitation at beginning of each pulse!

Yea. I have them running different waves at different times during the day. I’m tweaking it to see if I can eliminate the setting that causes the bubbles.
