So i did a water change yesterday...
Later in the evening I noticed nearly all of my corals looking terrible. Like ricordia folding, Duncan limp, BTA shrunk and so on. I did a few things so the scientific method is going to be tough to use here.

1) added water change water without heating (never noticed a problem before)
2) changed out GAC rinsed pretty well.
3) added some larger substrate because my fine sand was blowing too much (rinsed pretty well in "tap water."
4) Installed filter cleaned filter sock. Concern here is I used washing machine with detergent and bleach. Did use an extra rinse.

With all that, what could be going on?

Green montipora shed in this time frame. Roughly 18 hours.

Possible contamination from the sock and detergent. Always clean them with bleach only. Never a detergent.

When cleaning a sock with bleach in a washing machine, after it's done take the sock out and let air dry completely before use.

Sand rinsed in tap water is okay, but drain off as much of the water before placing the sand in the system. Me personally, I like to add RO/DI water to the sand after rinsing with tap and add some Prime to the water. Let sit for 10-15 mins and drain.

I would remove the sock and rewash it with bleach only and let dry completely before use. Having a second or third sock is best so as to rotate them out for cleaning while adding a clean dry sock.

I would do another small water change as well.

My suspicions lead me to only two possible areas.
Residual Bleach and or soap.
Did you test for chlorine?

The new substrate disturbed the old and could have released a toxic pocket.
I guess that would depend on how well or if you ever vacuumed detritus out of the old sand bed.

I would test everything you have a test for.
You may find an ammonia spike or and or high nitrite or nitrate.

Do you know if your tap water has traces of copper?

What new substrate did you use?
Is it for Saltwater use?
No insult I had picked up the wrong thing as the two packages were so similarly packaged.

+1 to above

Also adding new sand could cause a mini cycle if not properly rinsed....but you did say you rinsed it so hmmm

I would do another water change, maybe 60-70%
Match paramiters and temprature with such a large change though.
If it is soap or chlorine that will drastically improve the situation IMO.

If you need time to mix more saltwater then add Prime per directions.

Oh, I did stir the sand bed quite a bit to work in some of the heavier substrate. I got larger pea sized substrate. I did release some bubbles from the sand bed. ‍♂️

Didn't mean toi attach the symbol at the end. Thanks for the replies you guys!

The zoas and Duncan you posted a picture of don’t look too bad. Maybe run a little carbon and do a water change
Don’t panic
