Mystery Orange Slime Killing Poci

hey guys, i have this mysterious orange slime overtaking my pocillopora.
I noticed it when I first got the colony and tried getting it off, but it was somewhat rigid, and having never seen it before fragged a piece off before putting the colony in.
I'm going to try and salvage the rest of the colony in a couple minutes, but I figured I'd post to see if anyone know what it was.

Could be bacteria. Water looks like you have a bacterial bloom going on. White tinted.

I've been carbon dosing for the past month. the orange goo's been on it before I start dosing vodka. could be that the carbon dosing sped up it's growth.

yeah so my brother gave me this coral about a month ago. i noticed the mysterious goop while i was dipping it, and i gave it a good long dip, tried scrubbing it off with a toothbrush etc. It was not as widespread as it is now. it really kicked into high gear the past few days.


closest thing I can find on the internet is a thing called Lethal Orange Disease that infects coralline algae.

very strange. i fragged a few bits off and put the rest of the colony in another tank for now.
