Mystery solved with deflated ACAN colonies

Well I finally figured out why all 4 of my acans have been closed for several days and looked unhappy. Not my water quality . I sat and watched tank today just to see if anything was bothering them. Well let’s just say my Foxface,flame angel and 2 bar rabbit fish were all picking at them. I’m sure this has been going on for a while which now explains my deflated acans. Ended up taking every colony out and putting in my breeder hopefully they like their new home. And to think Foxface and the 2 bar Rabbitfish are herbivores. Guess acans taste better than algae.

They might be picking at stuff around or on the surface of your acans. I've seen a Rostrum tang go after an acan colony that had be knocked upside down so I would consider it possible hte acans might have an issue that makes them more attractive to your fish.
