There’s a couple more of them! I was definitely surprised to see them down there and they were the only zoas I’ve ever seen at that location and I have never seen them there beforeWow 75 ft depth is unusual for zoas. Many of the ones I collect are from 30ft and up. Could you get more light on it? I see a faint ring but the colors are difficult to distinguish![]()

Sour berry zoas coming to a LFS near youI guess you get to name them after yourself and sell them as a boutique zoa for $200 a head![]()
$200? Aim for $2000 for theseI guess you get to name them after yourself and sell them as a boutique zoa for $200 a head![]()
*RARE* DEEP WATER ZOAS$200? Aim for $2000 for these
Ditto…Name them after a Marvel super heroI guess you get to name them after yourself and sell them as a boutique zoa for $200 a head![]()
there we go got the DSLR camera out and "enhanced" it a little in lightroompump that saturation before one of the chop shops do it for you
thats pretty close seems like no one sells them that i can findlook like alpha blues http://www.zoabrary.com/Zoa/Alpha_Blue
so far they are doing amazing as soon as they were in the tank they opened up and rarely close. It was very odd to see them so deep especially in the Gulf of Mexico in Florida which is not known for its crystal clear water hoping to grow them out and frag some off at some point!Beautiful Zoanthids! Those look similar to Carribean Zoanthids.
I don't believe many Carribean Zoanthids have stayed alive and sold enough to have a solidified hobby name. They tend to not do as well in reef tanks as Indo Zoanthids. There's probably no exact common hobby name for them. But if they grow well for you and frags get spread around enough, then you can always pop your own name on them!
Maybe searching for cooler tempsIt was very odd to see them so deep especially in the Gulf of Mexico in Florida which is not known for its crystal clear water hoping to grow them out and frag some off at some point!
Most likely the gulf surface temp was 93 last week and the bottom temp at 75 feet was 87 so most everything was bleached outMaybe searching for cooler temps
