so 2 days ago I’ve noticed that the front of my mystery Wrasses’s Head (his nose section) blew up, its really swollen. It doesn’t look like fungus or anything like that. He is still active and eating (he isn’t eating as much though, I don’t know if it’s cause the swelling is effecting his jaw/mouth.) can someone help me out and let me know if this is a disease/infection. The only fish I have in my tank that once in a blue moon chases him for 2 seconds is a flame hawk fish. But it doesn’t look like there’s any bite/scratch marks on his body, just a swollen nose area in between his eyes

Can you post a photo?

I can’t get a good picture at the moment

What kind of corals, anemones, CUC, etc. do you have in the tank?

Long tentacle anemone, most of my corals are Acans, I have some mushrooms, zoas, paly’s, a torch & a hammer. They’ve all been in the tank tho for 4+ months together

The anemone possibly. It does not matter how long they have been together without incident. Especially if it’s one with a nasty sting. Just have to let time pass and see how it goes.

Decent chance it's a physical injury caused by being startled and a dash under the sand resulting in hitting a rock or the glass bottom.

We will need better photos for sure. Sometimes videos work better for this. Also, I moved this to the fish disease forum for more eyes.

Better photos will help, but I do see the basic shape of the swelling on the face. While we are waiting for the better pictures, you could dose Epsom Salt into the tank to help bring that swelling down some.
