Mystery Wrasse

Hello All,

So I just ordered my last 3 fish for my 250 gallon and one is a mystery wrasse (sized marked as small). I still debating to change the order before they ship. Been going back and forth if it would be a good fit due to its knowledge of aggression. I do have a black leopard, yellow coris, melerenus, and an orange shoulder all around the same size, about 3". Melerenus is starting to put the rest in their place. Other fish small fish are flameback angel, black cap basslet and a 3.5" longnose hawkfish. Everything else is tangs and Regal angel 4" and above. I do like the mystery wrasse alot. Thanks!

They are very similar to six lines. Once they are established, they will start to dislike any new fish. As you're adding them last, I feel like you would be fine. Just be careful adding fish from then on

As above said all members of the Pseudocheilinus genus can be very territorial and are generally not compatible with other wrasse

Thanks, I've never dealt with this species of wrases before.

I have kept a few over the years and have been lucky with aggression I guess. I am careful with all my fish to avoid similar shapes, but my mysteries have never terrorized anything but inverts. In my tank my peppermint hog is the bully. They are on my top 5 list and I will always keep one.

I have a mystery in with a leopard, yellow coris, and melanurus. They all get along fine.

The yellow coris was added last of the wrasses and no one gave him any trouble. He hasn’t bothered any of the fish I have added later and is honestly the shyest of my wrasses.

My tank is a 6 foot, 170.
