Will a mystery wrasse get along with a pellet eating spotted manderian?

Get along? Probably.

However, pellet eating or not, that mandarin still heavily depends on eating pods the rest of the time. A mystery wrasses will out-compete here.

How large is the tank?

It's only a forty breeder but has a ten gallon refugium.

if the mytery wrasse was in there first and you are now adding the mandarin I doubt the mytery would like that.

In this case, I definitely would not do it. Your mandarin will suffer.

I wouldn't have the mystery with mandarin in the 40B.

Agreed with above post. My mystery wiped 99.9% of the pods out of a 125!

I think that you may be on the edge. I have a 65 with a green mandarin and a mystery wrasse. Both are doing fine, though the wrasse does chase the mandarin every once-in-a-while.

They should get along. If your mandarin is fat and happy your already ahead of the game. I had one in with a lion fish and it never messed with the mandarin. It swam right up with the other fish to eat brine shrimp, then back to the rocks it went.That fish would swim out to greet me when I approached the tank. I had her for 5+ years before a power head got her. That was a sad day!!!. Loved that fish.
