thanks I've got a new mission. I will spend most of the day trying to get a good clear FTS. :(
I will need some input on doing this I tried Fstop 22 iso 400 shutter speed 1/10 but still to no avail on getting everything in the tank clear :(

Try ISO 100, Fstop 14-16 and place your shutter speed as needed.

O.K. I tried the settings advised by M&M
here it is after 20 or so clicks this is the best so far.
let me know please and any more advise will be noted and appreciated ???

This works, but f/8 is more than adequate for shots such as this. ISO 400 and f/8 will give you a much faster shutter speed and sharper results. I'm assuming you're using a tripod. Also, you need to get your white balance corrected to get rid of all of that blue.

thanks I 'll try anything at this point
I run the tank really blue the colors you see is what I see in my tank
ALSO if you look closly
the dead center of the tank there is nothing for the camera to focus on but the glass on the other side of the tank I think this is part of my problem too.

You should be using manual focus for all of this type of photography. Autofocus will always have trouble finding things to focus on in reef tanks. Glass, water, and water debris confuse the autofocus.

The blue is up to you. Looks very unnatural to me and I can't see the true coral colors. But that's a personal choice. Just giving you my two cents.

I will reduce the blue as you say, (this shot was really just a practice one to try and get the ever elusive full tank shot)
I also will try manual focus..
The thing is I am actually up against a wall in the room so manual focus will be tough.
BUT anything is worth a shot
Thank you for the input I do appreciate it

wow!!awesome tank and pics.what bulbs and ballast are you using?
