Is it a Myth or Fact that corals grow faster when glued to your rock work?

If by gluing to rock work they are made more stable and not moved around by the "night crew of cuc" or careless tank cleaning than if placed on sand on left unglued, they I would say yes - they will grow faster/better than if not glued.
 
After one to many mishaps of placing frags on the rocks without gluing them - I will glue them all from now on.
I think it's the biggest contributor to my losing corals - the crabs will tip them over and damage the polyps and slowly they will fade away.
I always glue hammers down - just have to be mindful of holding them upside down in the water until their polyps retract when taking them out of the tank - have lost a few by not doing this.

The bottom line is these animals are very sensitive and need to be handled with care.
And then we have to be good stewards with the water quality and lighting.
