N-DOC TNb always high?

DOC, dissolved organic carbon, as exudates from photosynthesis further mixes this cocktail of inorganic & organic nutrients. Organic carbon also is carried in the water column as zooplankton & phytoplankton.
 
Does anyone have a TNb that is within Triton's acceptable range?
For the first time we were in the green zone, for two tanks! IMO the nitrate is too low in our systems and we add KNO3 every day to keep it from getting lower.
These systems are our temporary coral holding tanks, so it's a bit more bioload then we usually have in a display tank.
