Followed recent thread of controversial dosing/not dosing N &P, but not sure I really understood it all.
Previous tank (100g mixed reef) had diff controlling NO3 (ran 40-80) & new 180g
with overpowered skimmer, refugium with cheeto not growing, maybe cuz no NO3? Had been getting a kind of filamentous brown algae, little green in tank. Don't recall name of light on refuge. Running Ocean Revives (3), 100% blue 12 hours, 30% white 6 hrs. N&P have both been at zero since tank cycled 3 mos ago. Other parameters on target; dkh 9, Ca 420, doing water changes every 2 wks. Haven't been checking mag on new sys yet. Temp 77-79. Have LPS, softies, couple easy SPS frags, zoas. Polyps seem to be opening. Maybe too soon to show much growth. Feeding fish heavily thinking may cause N& P to go up.
Recently adding Fuel & phytoplankton supplements for clam & tiggerpods in refuge. So, what's going on?
Thanks for any help. Considering turning white lights to 20%.

If you are feeding heavy, my 1st question is how is whatever you are growing in the fuge doing? If it's going bonkers, you might dose a bit if Nitrate and Phosphate.
Rarely will fish complain about being fed, so I would start there. Heavy feeding.
