Hello everyone
So ive been using bubble Magus NAC7 Skimmer for about year now ,great skimmer but lately after turning the skimmer OFF then ON the pump doesn't start and the impeller in the pump is not spinning right , its getting stopping while is spinning . So i end up getting a new impeller hopping thats the problem but still the same think , i have to push air thru the air tube for it to start bubbling and the impeller to spin with no stopes . The pump is ATMAN 2500 needle impeller . If anyone knows how to fix this problem please help me out .

My old swc reef octopus wouldn't start up on its own after about the ten year mark. At 13 years I finally bit the dust and replaced both pumps on it with the upgraded/updated ones and for a few months has been flawless. May just be worn out like mine or need a good cleaning

Same problem I had with my NAC6. Apparently that was a common issue in those skimmers. Youre probably going to need this upgrade kit. Bubble Magus NAC6 Skimmer Upgrade Kit I know it says NAC6 but I believe both the NAC6 and NAC7 used the same pump. I could be wrong. Hope that helps.

im gonna check into that , thank for the info very much

If not you can use it as an excuse to buy yourself a new skimmer. Thats what i did :D

Atmann's are known to stall and eventually stop. I have an SWC that also uses the Atmann 2500 pump. What I did was put two or three telfon washers on the shaft between the face plate and impeller. I think what was happening was that the mesh in the impeller was getting hung up on the face plate making startups difficult. That worked for me. Also look into buying a back up pump. I'm pretty sure Atmann is out of business and they are no longer making that pump.

Pump should not sure about bubble plate. I did the upgrade for my superskimmer 220 mainly to get the sp2000 pump boy did that make a diff that thing now pulls some really dark skim

will that work ?

NO! You need the kit to take care of the slight differences in the size and shape of the two pumps. I wish SWC would come out with one of these kits for their Atmann pump skimmers.

2 pumps ? isnt it only one ?

No. What I'm saying is that the Atmann is a different size/shape/attachments than the SP replacement pump. It simply won't fit in the skimmer without getting the kit.
