Exceptional photos. I need a DSLR to fall into my lap... Never have I cared about photography until I tried to get good pictures of my tank, now I want a nice camera way too much for my wallets own good..

Thanks, it is a companion hobby, I love taking pics!

Seeing as I appear to have a few more visitors recently I will do a bit of an update as the tank is 30 months in now.
As have most people there have been downs as well as ups!

I am very lazy but I do react to changes if I need to.

I designed the tank to be divided into 2 parts, the dimensions are 1650 x 650 x 450 mm, about 500 litres overall and it runs 550 water volume including sump.
There is a full glass divide at 1000 mm with a 75 mm swim through hole so the fish and creatures can move between the 2 sides.
Each side has it's own weir with 2 drains and a return in each weir.
I run a Nyos 160 skimmer a 300 watt heater and 2 return pumps, a Vectra m1 through a spraybar for the display and an Eheim 3000 for the cube end.
There is an RW 15 and RW 4 in the display and Tunze something in the cube.
There is a large fuge section in the sump and the cube is run as a display fuge.

I don't do water changes because I don't see the point.
(I intervene if there is a chance that my animals might be suffering, an extended power cut 6 months ago was treated with about a 300 litre water change over about a week.)
I top up RO twice a day by hand, about 8 litres a day and dose Reeflowers liquid kh buffer every morning and their All Elements when I remember in the evening.

I run Sochting oxydators, there are thread on them!
I have 3 tray of mineral mud in the sump and some siporax, considering removing them, long story!
My macro is mostly caulerpa, the naughty one, the tangs keep on top of bits in the display.
I have a 12 x 12 inch (I know I swapped from metric, deal with it! ). ... sheet of egg crate in the display refugium that is how I gauge nutrient levels, if my levels are low I harvest from there.

Don't think I missed anything!
The pics are from the past month or so, I will try to get a display fts this weekend.

wow! What a lot of just fantastic coral and fish shots! You have a tank full of incredible corals. Loved looking at all your pics!

Beautiful images as always. I am interested to hear your Siporax story. Unless I missed it earlier in the thread. I am planning a minimalistic aquascape and have considered Marine Pure and Siporax. Each seem to have their issues, although many seem to use them successfully.

Thanks, I think it might be overkill for me but until I remove it I won't know.
My nutrients are quite low at the moment, the caulerpa is growing slowly so removing it will up the nutrients.
... But, that would be like a major harvest of the caulerpa, it always takes about a week for it to start growing strongly again.
If it is not broken why try to fix it?
I don't do big or quick changes but it is niggling me a bit!
We'll see.

Have you had the cowrie for a long time?
We've tried tiger cowrie but hadn't had any long term luck.. I know they all have different diets and so. What does the ring cowrie eat?

Thanks, they are a general algae eater, not macro though, that one is the largest one I found and I bought it for the zebra mantle markings, that was the last addition of them over a year ago.

This is why I love macro lenses, that is about 50 cm back in the tank and the naked eye would never pick up the pink centres of the polyps.

Update on the "brown" rescue frag, it slowed growth for a few weeks, I did manage to nudge my kh up near 10 about a month ago.
All systems go again now.
