  1. Hey everyone, I picked up a new coral the other day due to it being by a random price tag, and me knowing I could get it for that random price tags price.
I’m fairly certain it’s a type of sps coral maybe a montipora or porites.
I’ve asked on another forum and was told it could be a Jedi mind trick monti.
The health of the coral is iffy and it’s a dime sized frag.

If anyone could help me out on figuring out what it is that would be amazing!!!!!

Yeah post a pic always a fun game! Since we are playing name that coral.... I got this at a frag swap a while back. I think he said is was a dragon scale mille, does that seem right? It's coloring to be a nice piece whatever the name may be. 20190421_220529.jpg

It’s probably aiptasia.
Thanks, appreciate the help. Why not use some of your well-known member experience to help a fellow reefer out. Instead of wasting everyone's time with sarcastic comments, you could just keep to yourself.

@salty_trout the aptasia comment was most likely a joke to the OP, @Hemmdog was trying to help you out so really no need to be rude. Your pic is to dark to ID your coral to be honest. The OP posted a question, you could always start your own thread for an ID, no reason we can't be civil.

Easy killer...easy. Look at comments like that as a free bump.

Sometimes an ID of a named coral can be a problem because it will change colors due to high light, lowlight, low nutrients, or high nutrients.

I am sure one of the Pro ID folks will be along but I can tell you this, seems whatever you are doing keep it up, it seems happy. It is going to be a beautiful piece.

This isn’t even your thread and your asking for an ID. You can create your own

Relax guy, no need to feel salty, that wasn’t even directed to you.

Someone comes on to ask for ID and doesn’t supply a picture of anything and asks for help. In this day and age with smart phones, one can’t snap a pic?

It looks like a montipora to me. Hard to say on the species/vendor name right now. It looks like it could be an encrusting species of montipora. Let it color up and grow then post some updated pics.
