Name this eel

I got this for my son's birthday and it was labeled as a Banded Eel, but all of those that I have ever seen have lines that are more crisp/clean. I do not think it's a snowflake as the pattern is different. It's about a foot long. Anyone happen to know?

Well, I would guess it's in the moray family (gymnothorax?)
It -might- be an axanthic snowflake, in which case you've netted yourself quite the rare fish.

I feel like I may have seen this before, though...hmm

So it looks like there are two eels that go by the name of banded moray: echidna polyzona, and gymnothorax rueppelliae. Look up both and see what you think. I suspect E polyzona.
