iPhone pictures taken from a local lfs yesterday and would like to find out what this particular coral belongs to. The polyps are purple (dark spots on tips) and light hint of orange plus it does show some characteristic of "fibrous" strain from the tip end downwards.

All I can say it's not photosynthetic and it reacts to Reef Roid feeding ... even under bright lights.

I don't know what it is, but it may not be a loss cause. You say it reacts to reef roids, but do you physically see the polyps closing as if they were eating? If so, then we know it eats food in the 150-200 micron range, some "popular" foods in that size are reef roids, golden pearls, Oyster eegs/feast, and some marine snows.

Either way it's either gonna die off at the lfs place or I'm doing some experiment with filter feeding regimen eg. oyster eggs/feast, Reef Roids or possibly Reef Nutrition's Oyster or Phyto-Feast.
good luck. Look into powders too

Picked this up at my LFS today and can’t remember the name of it. Help :)
