FIRST: Clean Up Crew & Copepod/Amphipod Culture - SECOND: 1 Clown & Anemone, Ricordea Mushroom (don't know which one yet) 3 Sexy Shrimp & 1 Mini Carpet Anemone. THIRD: Yellow Watchman Goby & Pistol Shrimp & Phytoplankton Culture.
Its the order I want to acclimate them ...and myself in.

Great! I really like ricordeas but cant find any at my fish stores! Also like the watchman goby idea. Is this your first tank?

I just decided on my livestock.

What order would you add all this livestock in? How long would you take to add them all?

4sexy shrimp & mini carpet anemone
2 clown & bubble tip anemone
1 yellow watchman goby & pistol shrimp pair
Snails
1 Ricordea
1 Torch

Add the snails ( need clean up crew first) then 2 clown because they will be hardier then watchman goby.then add the goby in , make sure all your paremeters are right, then add his buddy. (pistol srimp) then also add sexy shrimp. next add ricordia, then torch. And then when your tanks been running for about 2 months add your anenome. How long are you cycling for, do you no your paremeters?

Add the anemones until the end?? Wont they damage my other corals by moving around?
Should I add the Bubble Tip & MiniCarpet Anemones together or separately?
I want to avoid sexy shrimp fighting with clown over one anemone... How would I do that? Bubble tip for Clown and MiniCarpet for SexyShrimp.

Well whether you add them in beginning or in the end they can still damge other corals. Id be careful 2 nems in that tank might be a bad mix. i never had sexy shrimp so sorry cant help you there. But that would be very hard to get them to host there own nem without going to back and forth between the nems. If that makes sense.

I have 4 anemones in my tank and one clown. My clown spends time with each of them and they are opposite ends of my tank. I dont have anything hosting them but the one clown, but I'm thinking the clown wouldn't care at this point lol

An anemone could possibly move anytime. Even if they have been in one spot for a long time. You just have to watch them and move your corals. It's not the end of the coral or the world. Just pay attention to your tank which is usually not very hard to do. =) You want to wait till your tank has matured a while before adding an anemone. In the beginning your tanks parameters aren't very stable which is rough on an anemone. I'd start with the bubble tip and wait on the carpet for a while. Carpets are usually a lot harder than a bubble tip. Once you know your bubble tip is doing well then I'd add the carpet. That just my opinion.

Cool then ill stick a bubble tip in a few months.
After i put my CUC, I think i will place the YWGoby with 4 sexy shrimp and a Ricordea.
The comes the clown And pistol shrimp

Hey everyone!

My Ammonia is undetectable and my Nitrites are at 0.25. My Nitrates spiked overnight from 20 to almost 60 today.
I bought Dr. Tims One and Only nitrifying bacteria and arrives in 3 days. Should I do a water change yet or not (if so, of how much %?), then add One and Only and finally my CUC?

So I did a 50%WC after my Nitrites had been undetectable for 4 days.

AM 0 NI 0 NA 60 after the water change I tested after 24 hours: AM 0 NI 0 AM 5

I understand it isn't good to have no livestock for too long, so I have a Snail Crew and a Goby/Pistol pair coming in in the next few days. I'll post pics once they are inside.

Should I drip the Goby/Pistol or just temp acclimate them all?

Update! Pic heavy!

Hey everyone.

I have some updates and pics to share.

The tank is looking good. LOTS of Coralline Algae growing, but recently I have had a diatom and slime algae bloom, which is coming and going, I guess its some kind of small cycle PLUS I blame my overfeeding, but getting the hang of it.

I added ChemiPure Elite to my AC30 and am running it along with PolyFilter. In the refugium I have a tennis ball size of Chaeto, a toothbrush size of Red Gracilaria and a teaspoon size of Ulva Lettuce.

Anyway, I have also added some coral in the past month.

Hope you guys like.

ALGAE ..help?

BELOW are my attempts at showing you what the algae I mentioned before looks like.

Slime Algae on the glass corner of the tank.

Moss Algae on the Live Rock, mostly present where the AC30 pours out.

Brown Sand Algae on the substrate present on the front of the tank where the light is nice and strong.

ANY advice, besides the 50% WC I am about to do, would be fantastic! Thanks

Do you have a reactor and run a phosphate sponge? Always stay on top of your water changes. Do a 30% WC weekly until it clears. Cut back on feeding to 3 times a week. Are you using RODI water?
