How can i get my nitrates down? I am runing a stock tank. The only things i have add is a Hydor 240gph pump and Clear Fx Pro- Removes Phosphates & Organics. I have nano tank food that is frozen and put in a pice that is smaller then a dime.

Fish i have 2 clowns and a sand sifter goby.
invertebrates i have five snails and one hermit crab.
coral i have a torch and 6 zoanthids

Is there any thing ells that i can do, or need to do to help my tank?

Water changes and lesser feelings are the not ways to brung down nitrates in nano tanks with out a skimmer :) as far as I know

Definitely need larger water changes and or more often. I have a 20g with a sump, refugium, and protein skimmer and I still do a 5 gallon change once a week. If you don't have a skimmer, you have to find a way to get those nitrates down. Also how much do you feed? It could be too much. To start off, if you aren't wanting to add a refugium or protein skimmer, I would either do a 2 gallon change twice a week or do a 4 gallon once a week. Another question, when did you start your cycle and did the nitrates ever come down before you added your livestock?

for four years ive been runing my biocube my nitrates were always between 15n20ppms and also high on phosphates till i got a phosphate reactor now i got zero nothing nada on both .... ofcourse after a 50% water change also helpes alot!

The tanks has been up for 7 weeks. I feed ones a day. befor i added any fish my nitrates were are 5ppm.

I have no problem doing more water changes but is there any thing ells i can do to get the nitrates down and keep them down?

Thanks for all the help.

Really in a display only nano tank, water changes are your only choice. You could add a reactor on the back if you wanted and run biopellets but I wouldn't recommend that if you are pretty new to the hobby.

At 7wks it's very possible that your tank is still cycling. Keep your bio-load down to a minimum, keep your feedings small and keep up on the water changes. There is NO need for you to add anything. Just be patient :)
