Thanks for the input guys! I was told my little herd of ponies will be here Tues or Weds. Fingers crossed. Last time I did Dwarfs I was NOT educated. This time I've spent months researching and hope to have them for years!

Another question. Since the tank has been running empty I'm guessing when I do add the ponies that I am going to get an ammonia spike? Is this correct? Then should I just do small wc's until the load levels its self out?
Thanks again.

If you've been adding an ammonia source like flake food and still have some nitrates, you have a bio filter, a young one, but it's there. You could always add some beneficial bacteria when you add the sea horses. No, you shouldn't have an ammonia spike. I the bio filter is working correctly, you should see an increase in nitrates.
