I never really do testing for my nano tank since it is just a fish and soft corals. I do weekly 10% water changes. I came home today and my helfrichi firefish and my biota ranford goby were dead. My clown fish pair and sailfin blenny are alive. I have had this system for a year. Not sure what to do? Thanks

Any spots in the fish? Swimming in to flow? Hiding from light? Breathing more heavily? Hiding/cryptic behavior? Dustings? Discoloration? Flashing? Scratching?

im 20gallon penninsula. Clowns are not really doing anything. No spots on the fish.

What about an answer to my other questions?

Also, how new is the tank? (How long has it been set up)?

ugh. I think I killed them. My heater was not working and it was off. I had a chiller so it never got hot but it is 72 degrees

Had the tank for 1 year.

72 is kinda low but I've kept fish at that or close to it for a few days and had no fatalities. Assuming the temp dropped slowly, it shouldn't have killed the fish on it's own I don't think. What was the last thing you added to the tank that was wet? I'm meaning corals, inverts, fish, rock, macro algae - anything wet that didn't go through QT and how long ago was that?

the last thing was my neon goby a month ago. I got it from diver's den

Ok so how about the questions from 4ford quoted above? To get any real help you'll have to observe your fish closely and answer those questions. We need more information to help.

the dead fish had turned white. the clown fish are acting like nothing happened. Maybe it is the temperature but will take my water to my lfs for a check

I think everything seems to be getting back on tract with the heater. Not sure how many days my heater was broken. thanks
