I’d like to add 1 more fish to my 20g IM nuvo fusion. Current occupants are:
2 young clowns
1 Midas blenny
1 fire shrimp
2 bubble tip anemones
And some easy corals—Duncan, mushrooms, zoas, torch

Everyone is doing well and I feel it could handle an addition.

I have been considering a watchman goby + pistol shrimp… but would this be too much?

Any other fish recommendations for my setup? Thanks!!

I’d say a royal gramma would make a perfect addition with its size and demeanor but I’d watch out for 2 things. Firstly, the Midas Blenny may be a bit nippy with the gramma and if you’ve got a young Midas, he may get pretty stressed in a 20g when he grows. Another cool addition would be either a Tiger Blenny which loves to dig holes or a Flame Hawkfish. Here is a pic of all mine just for reference

The watchman/Pistol are a fun pair and will find/build a little cave under a rock in the sand.. that being said, you wont see them all the time or even very often aside from feeding time. Sounds like everyone should have their own space though but some will say you're bordering being overstocked.. I suppose you will need to be consistent with weekly water changes and only feed what is eaten.. My favorite my spotted Mandarin, though I'm by no means recommending them.. They come with the understanding that you will be stocking the tank with pods pretty regularly in that size tank..
